Intelligence Bureau (IB) is India’s most reputated intelligence agency in India which is under the Ministry of Home Affairs. The main activity that Ministry of Home affairs take care about is the maintenance of internal security. The main responsibility of Intelligence Bureau is to clear licenses, grants the necessary security clearances. The Bureau has large number of employees comprising from the Indian Police service (IPS) and the military. It was formed on 23rd December, 1887 by the British Secretary of the State. Most of the Gazetted officers which are a part of the IB carry out the work of co-ordination and management. IB has large number of field units in it. Its Headquarters are under the control of Deputy Directors.

Intelligence Bureau ACIO Recruitment 2013 (Important Details)

Intelligence Bureau is conducting the direct Recruitment process for the selection of the post of Assistant central Intelligence officer (Technical) and Assistant central Intelligence officer (Wireless Telegraphy). Both these post are available in the category of Grade-II. There are total of 19 and 57 vacancies available for these posts respectively.

Who is eligible?

The minimum and the maximum age limit specified by the Intelligence Bureau for these posts would vary between 18 to 27 years. There will be the relaxation in the upper age limit of reserved categories as per the instruction of the Government.

The candidate must possess different qualifications according to the different posts. For the ACIO-II Tech, candidate must have Bachelor’s degree in Science or Diploma in Engineering with the major subjects such as Electrical, Electronics, and Telecommunication and computer science or he/she can be a post graduate diploma in computer applications from any recognized university. For the post of ACIO-II WT, Candidate must possess Bachelor’s degree in Science or Diploma in Radio Engineering or he/she can be a post graduate diploma in computer applications.

Selection Procedure:

The candidates who are found to be eligible have to qualify the written examination followed by interview. The written examination for both these posts will be the multiple choice question paper. The paper comprises of various subjects such as General awareness, reasoning, Comprehension, Physics, Electronics and Mathematics. The candidates qualifying the examination will be further called by the Intelligence Bureau for the interview.

The candidates who are willing to apply for both these posts can apply online by visiting the Official website of Intelligence Bureau. The applicants applying online can pay the fees only through the challan of State Bank of India or Internet Banking or through ATM-cum-debit card of State bank of India. There is a relaxation in the application fee of some of the reserved categories such as SC/ST and women candidates as per the policy of Government. To apply online, applicant has to undergo the two registration processes by filling all the relevant information in the prescribed format. The candidates are required to take out the print out of registration number after doing the registration for the respective post. The last date of application is 18th February, 2013.
