Prasar Bharti is an autonomous body established under the Prasar Bharti Act. It is considered as one of the largest public sector broadcaster in the country. The main objective of establishment of the Prasar Bharti was to impart and provide information, education, entertainment and promoting the welfare and happiness of the masses. It encompasses the most famous electronic media channels such as All India radio and Doordarshan for the entertainment of the people. The Parliament of India passed an act of Prasar Bharti in the year 1990, but it was enacted in the year 1997.


SSC Prasar Bharti Recruitment 2013 details:

The Staff Selection Commission is going to conduct the recruitment process for the selection of the highly capable candidates in the field of the Programme Executive and Transmission Executive which has been notified by the Prasar Bharti. The total number of vacancies available both these posts are 1238 which are divided among the following posts differently. The post of the transmission executive is available in different categories such as General & Production, Farm & Home, Family welfare, Educational Broadcast, scripts, Tribal Dialect, Science reporting and Production assistant.  

Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit : The age limit specified by the Staff Selection Commission for the various posts notified by the Prasar Bharti should not exceed 30 years. There will be the relaxation in the age limit of reserved categories as per the instruction of the Government.

Educational Qualification : The Educational Qualification required for the post of the transmission executive and Programme executive is that the candidate must have attain the Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field from the recognized University/College/ Board. The essential requirement for the candidates applying for the posts is that he/she should be proficient in the local language.
Application fees : The application fee can be paid in the form of net banking or by challan into the Bank Account of State Bank of India Only. There is a relaxation in the application fee of the candidates of the reserved categories as per the instruction of the Government.

Selection Procedure:

The candidates eligible for the following post will be selected on the basis of the Competitive written examination. The written examination will be conducted by the concerned authorities of the Staff Selection Commission for both he positions which have been notified by the Prasar Bharti. The written examination will consist of two parts- Paper-I and Paper-II. The Paper-I will be objective type and paper-II will be subjective type. The candidates who will qualify the written examination will be further selected on the basis of the interview. The written examination for the various positions is on 2nd June, 2013.

Application Submission Process:

The candidates who are interested in applying for the various positions can only apply online. To apply online, one has to visit the official website of the Staff Selection Commission and has to undergo two registration processes. In Part-I Registration, the application has to be filled by providing all the basic and relevant information and in part-II Registration the candidates are required to provide the payment details along with the uploading of the photograph and scanned signature.  The last date of filling this application online is 19th April, 2013.
